Privacy Policy
The short version: Don't Disturb has no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, and collects nothing that identifies you. Almost everything the app does happens on your phone and stays there. The two exceptions are described below: an anonymous vote for the next island, and optional notifications — both are things you choose to tap.
No accounts, no tracking, no analytics
Don't Disturb has no sign up and no login. It contains no analytics tools, no advertising frameworks, and no trackers of any kind. We cannot see how you use the app, and we would not know if you opened it right now. The app makes no network requests as you listen — the only times it talks to a server are the two optional actions described below.
Your soundscapes stay on your phone
The islands you arrange and the sounds you place are saved only in the app's own storage on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.
Head tracking and motion data
If you use AirPods or compatible headphones, the app can use your headphones' motion sensors to keep sounds anchored in space as you turn your head. This motion data is processed live on your device by Apple's frameworks, is never stored, and never leaves your phone. You can turn head tracking off at any time inside the app.
Voting for the next island
Inside the app you can tap a signpost and vote for which island we should build next. If you vote, we save your choice to Apple's iCloud on our behalf, together with a random identifier that is generated on your device. That identifier exists only so that changing your mind replaces your earlier vote instead of counting twice. It is not linked to you, your Apple Account, or your device, and it is never used to track you. We can see the totals; we cannot see who voted. If you never tap a card, nothing is ever sent.
Notifications
You can ask the owl to let you know when a new island is ready. If you say yes, iOS asks your permission and we register for announcements through Apple's iCloud. We do not receive your device token or any address for you — Apple delivers the message. Saying no, or never asking, changes nothing about how the app works.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
